Privacy Policy

MacČelik · last updated 6 July 2026
Short version: MacČelik reads your Serbian eID card entirely on your Mac. Your personal data never leaves your device. There is no server, no account, and no analytics.

What the app processes

When you insert your ID card, the app reads the data stored on the chip (personal details, residence, document data, portrait photo, and the two X.509 certificates) in order to display it and, if you choose, export it. This processing happens locally, in memory, on your Mac.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no backend. It does not transmit your card data, personal information, PIN, or usage data anywhere. The developer never receives any of it.

Where your data goes

Your PIN

Your PIN is entered through the system smart-card prompt and is sent only to the card. The app does not store, log, or transmit it.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details. Apple’s handling of purchase data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. The app checks your subscription status locally via StoreKit; no personal data is attached.

Children

The app is a utility for holders of a Serbian identity document and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
